♥ Shovel out the rocks in the well
I was praying for mindy just now, and I was telling her how she should trust God and all, and really be faithful in her QT. I think what I said to her was really true, and it applies to my life right now. So I was telling her how it's better to have a regular QT every day, instead of doing a long one like, once a week. I was praying that she be more faithful and trust God for strength...then after that she asked "what if I feel so tired? Isn't it better for me to not pray than to force myself to pray?" Well, here was my answer:
I told her about the praying-well metaphor Krystle mentioned the other day, about how when we don't pray, it's like dropping a stone into a well. So if we keep on not praying, we will not be able to be replenished by the water. But when we DO pray, it's like taking a shovel and shoveling out all the dirt, rock, and other stuff so the blessings of God can flow upon us. And then I said some stuff that really really surprised myself, which I really think is useful for me in my life.
It's as if there's a line, a boundary, and on one side, is our physical body. In here, it's in the natural realm, where we feel tired. But when you continue to pray, you'll face a breakthrough, and you'll be able to break the boundary and move into the other realm, the spiritual realm. And in there you'll really be renewed once again. No matter how tired you are, there's always this breakthrough that you'll have that restores your strength once again, so when you force your way through prayer, you won't feel tired anymore :)))
These things that came from my mouth...I realized that it was just exactly what I needed. I think God's really interesting, to show me what I needed like that...nothing's a coincidence, that's for sure.
